The Minister for European Affairs of Denmark is travelling to Ukraine for the fourth time. This time to gather EU Ministers for European Affairs for an informal ministerial meeting to discuss how to bring Ukraine closer to the EU. The meeting is organised together with Ukraine.
"I am very pleased that we are concluding the Danish Presidency with an informal ministerial meeting in Ukraine. We will meet to discuss Ukraine's path towards EU membership. And we are in Ukraine to show our political support to Ukraine's impressive progress in implementing laws and reforms. Even though the country is at war and has challenges with corruption, Ukraine has made real progress. Now it is crucial that the country stays on its path, continues its efforts to implement reforms, and fights corruption," says Minister for European Affairs of Denmark, Marie Bjerre.
EU enlargement has been one of the key topics of the Danish EU Presidency.
The official program lasts from 10 to 11 December. A cultural event will take place in the evening of the first day. The second day will begin with an official memorial ceremony. Subsequently, the ministers will attend the informal ministerial meeting.
