Garrett named Peach Belt Pitcher of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University's Sydney Garrett has been named the Peach Belt Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week ending Feb. 1.
Garrett, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Chickamauga, Georgia, went 1-0 in two appearances last week as the Bobcats split a pair of games with Young Harris College.
Garrett, who was also named the Zaxbys Player of the Week, pitched 2.1 innings of shutout relief in the opener with two strikeout. Garrett tossed a complete game in game two, striking out five and allowing just two runs from six hits in a 3-2 victory over Young Harris to earn the win.
The Bobcats return to action Wednesday (Feb. 4) with a 3 p.m. doubleheader in Florence, South Carolina, against 10th-ranked Francis Marion University.
