Judge Baer's Retirement and Reassignment of Cases
Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Wednesday March 4, 2026 will be Judge Baer's last day on the bench before her retirement. Starting March 5, her cases will be heard by the following Judges on the following designated days:
- Kane and DuPage County Chapter 13 cases. These cases will be heard by Judge Cleary on designated Fridays. Check with his staff or website for the Fridays he will be sitting to hear these cases.
- Kane and DuPage County Chapter 7 cases. These cases will be heard by Judge Cleary every Wednesday.
- Chicago Chapter 11 Cases. These cases will be heard by Judge DeCelles every Wednesday.
- Chicago Chapter 7 Cases. These cases will be heard by Judge Peterman every Friday.
If you have a converted chapter 11 case that is now a chapter 7 case that was being heard by Judge Baer on the Chicago chapter 7 call, but the Debtor is located in Kane or DuPage County, those cases will also be heard by Judge Cleary on Wednesdays.
