New City, N.Y. - 3/10/26… Today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) joined municipal leaders from across the Hudson Valley at Clarkstown Town Hall to highlight more than $33 million in federal investments supporting infrastructure, public safety, transportation, and community priorities across the district.

Representatives from 13 municipalities attended the press conference to discuss how these investments will strengthen their communities and improve quality of life for residents.
"Residents across the Hudson Valley want the basics to work: safe streets, reliable water infrastructure, and public services that meet the needs of their communities. These investments will support law enforcement, improve water and sewer systems, upgrade roads and sidewalks, and expand transportation options across our district," said Congressman Lawler.
During the congressional appropriations process, Congressman Lawler secured funding for several critical infrastructure and public safety projects, including:
$4.2 million for police equipment for the Rockland County Sheriff's Office in Clarkstown
$2.6 million for a new Rockland County Sheriff's training facility
$2.25 million to replace a water storage tank in the Village of Pleasantville
$1.25 million for a water plant project in the Town of Carmel
$1.25 million for the Hallocks Mill Sewer District extension in the Town of Yorktown
$1.25 million for the Croton Falls sewer project in North Salem
$983,200 for a water main project in the Village of Sleepy Hollow
$5 million for the Nanuet Transit-Oriented Development project in Clarkstown
$5 million for sidewalks in the Town of Ramapo
$1.3 million for sidewalks in the Town of Orangetown
$4 million for road infrastructure improvements in the Village of New Square
$1 million for Memorial Drive reconstruction in the Village of Suffern
$1 million for a water main project in Ossining
The FY26 appropriations legislation also included funding for additional New York priorities, which Lawler voted in favor of, including:
$1 million for bus transit in the Village of Kaser
$500,000 for Ready Transit in the Town of Ramapo
$534,000 for the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival in Garrison
"These projects were identified by the communities themselves. Working together with local leaders, we were able to deliver targeted investments that will strengthen infrastructure, support public safety, and improve quality of life across the Hudson Valley," said Congressman Lawler.

Congressman Lawler is one of the most bipartisan members of Congress and represents New York's 17th Congressional District, which is just north of New York City and contains all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties. He was rated the most effective freshman lawmaker in the 118th Congress, 8th overall, surpassing dozens of committee chairs.
