City Seeks Input on Lincoln Area Bridges Project

City Seeks Input on Lincoln Area Bridges Project

Published on November 08, 2024

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) invites residents to provide input on the proposed Lincoln Area Bridges Preventative Maintenance Project. Comments will be accepted through December 10.

Proposed bridge work includes deck patching and overlays, joint replacement, approach slab repairs, rail repairs, and sidewalk repairs. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2027 and be completed by winter 2027.

Project locations include:

  • "O" Street viaduct (Harris Overpass)
  • 27th Street viaduct
  • SW. 40th Street viaduct
  • Sheridan Boulevard Penny Bridges
  • 37th and South streets
  • 10th and Salt Creek bridge

Bridge traffic would continue during the projects, with lane closures controlled by traffic control devices and signs. Full closures will be required to accommodate work on the Penny Bridges and for work on other bridge locations as necessary.

Comments may be submitted to Craig Aldridge, LTU Project Manager, at [email protected], 402-416-5349, or mailed to him at 949 West Bond Street, Suite 200, Lincoln, NE, 68521.

More information on the projects, including proposed detours and funding, is provided at lincoln.ne.gov/LincolnAreaBridges or by contacting Aldridge at [email protected], 402-416-5349.
