SMART Pathway closure for maintenance September 18-20, 2026
A portion of the SMART Pathway in San Rafael will be temporarily closed for maintenance from Friday, September 18, through Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Closure details
- Location: SMART Pathway between Andersen Drive and Rice Drive
- Dates: Friday, September 18, through Sunday, September 20
- Closure hours: Approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day
The pathway will reopen each day after crews complete their work. If the work is completed early, the pathway may reopen sooner.
Detour
During closure hours, pathway users should follow posted signs and use the designated detour. The detour follows the sidewalk and bike lane from Rice Drive to Du Bois Street and then to Andersen Drive.
Signs will be posted along the pathway to alert users of the closure and provide directions to the detour.
SMART will conduct additional cleanup and maintenance along the pathway and nearby creek from Wednesday, September 16, through Sunday, September 20.
