Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2026 Round 3 Counselling: The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu Selection Committee has begun the choice filling and locking process online as of today, 1 October 2026, for the 3rd round of Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling. Registered and qualified candidates may exercise their fresh Option for Open Rank for MBBS/BDS courses in Govt SFS Pvt Medical Universities Colleges under the State for the following vacant seats on the official website tnmedicalselection.net. The third round, which concerns admissions through the 92.5% State Quota and the 7.5% Government School Preferential Quota, will cover all the vacant seats remaining in 36 state medical colleges, 3 state dental colleges and several self-financing colleges. Candidates have been advised to lock their preferences by 2:00 PM (October 9, 2026), before the Seat Allotment Result is announced on October 12, 2026.

TN NEET UG 2026 Round 3 Choice Filling: How to Fill Choices

Here are the steps to complete the online choice filling and locking for Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2026 Round 3 Counselling:

1. Visit the official website tnmedicalselection.net and click on the UG Courses tab for MBBS/BDS Round 3 Admission.
2. Input your Login ID/Application Number and Password, then enter the OTP that was sent to your registered mobile number/email.
3. Pay the non-refundable registration fee online (Rs.500 for Government Quota; Rs.1,000 for Management Quota) if you are a new/returning user.
4. Download the Round 3 official fresh seat matrix for the vacant seats in Round 3 that are officially announced.
5. Pick the colleges and courses (MBBS/BDS) you want to apply to (select from the list that is provided in the choice-filling module).
6. Move Up / Move Down to strictly prioritise your choices (top preference at position 1).
7. Save your changes frequently while editing your list to avoid losing any data.
8. Press Lock Choices, then enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number to verify your preferences.
9. Take a printout of the locked choice summary sheet and keep it handy with you during the college reporting.

• Candidates are advised to verify the latest vacant seat matrix for Round 3, which includes Government Medical/Dental Colleges along with Self-Financing Institutions, before submitting their choices.

• Fill in as many choices as you can in descending order of priority. Don't restrict it to one college, as the allotment is purely based on your NEET UG Rank and category and seat availability.
• The choices should be locked explicitly by 2 PM on October 9, 2026. Choices not locked will automatically freeze at the end of the deadline as per the last saved state.
• The candidate who is allotted a seat in round 3 has to report to the institute within the given date (by October 14, 2026), failing which the candidate will forfeit the seat & security deposit as per state exit rules.
