Aspiring Firefighters Can Experience the Real Work of Fire Service Through Hands-on Training

HENDERSON, Nev.(Dec. 10, 2025) - The Henderson Fire Department invites the next generation of heroes to learn what it takes to serve their community at the upcoming Explorer Program orientation on Saturday, Jan. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Henderson Fire Training Center.

The Explorer Program offers hands-on experience in real fire services operations, giving participants a chance to train directly with Henderson firefighters and gain valuable insight into the profession. New this year, the program will feature a more defined pathway to a future career as a firefighter or firefighter paramedic, along with more volunteer opportunities that allow participants to give back to the community.

As a Henderson Fire Explorer, participants will:

  • Train in firefighting skills, EMS and rescue techniques
  • Participate in physical fitness and team-building drills
  • Support community safety events
  • Learn from experienced firefighters and paramedics

Henderson Fire is looking for motivated individuals ages 16-24 who are enrolled in high school, college or recently graduated and ready to train hard, challenge themselves and work as part of a team.

The orientation offers a valuable chance to learn more about the program and understand the fire service journey. For more information and to RSVP for the orientation, visit JoinHendersonFire.com.
