Border Bank Announces Andrew Faken as Market President in Roseau

Border Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Andrew Faken to Market President of its Roseau location. Faken succeeds Tim Loven, who retired this month.

Faken began his banking career in 2009, holding customer support roles before advancing into a commercial credit analyst position. He joined Border Bank in 2018 as a Credit Officer, was promoted to Business Banker in 2022 and has since built strong relationships with business and community members throughout the greater Roseau area. Born and raised in Lancaster, Minnesota, Faken brings deep roots and firsthand knowledge of Northern Minnesota to his role. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from North Dakota State University.

Throughout his career, Faken has valued the relationship-driven nature of banking and the opportunity to support local businesses across a diverse regional economy.

"What I enjoy most about banking is the relationships and the opportunity to see businesses thrive," said Faken. "We have a unique mix of industries, from agriculture to manufacturing to retail, which makes the work incredibly rewarding. I'm looking forward to building on the trust we have developed with both our business and consumer customers and continuing to find ways to support their success."

In his new role, Faken will lead the Roseau team and continue strengthening Border Bank's commitment to local decision-making and community-focused service. He is actively involved in the region and currently serves as Vice President of the Northwestern Minnesota Manufacturers Association, where he works to better understand and support the manufacturing sector.

Faken also emphasized the strength of the Roseau team as a key driver of success.

"Our team truly operates like a family," he added. "There's a strong sense of collaboration and willingness to step up for one another, which ultimately allows us to take great care of our customers."

Chief Banking Officer Dan Doeden expressed appreciation for Loven's legacy and confidence in Faken's leadership.

"We are grateful to Tim for his years of leadership and dedication," said Doeden. "At the same time, we are excited to welcome Andrew into this role. His experience, strong relationships, and deep understanding of the Roseau market position him well to lead. I have full confidence in his ability to continue building on our momentum and serving the community with excellence."

Border Bank was established in 1935 and operates nine branches throughout Minnesota, including Badger, Baudette, Clearbrook, Coon Rapids, Greenbush, International Falls, Middle River, Roseau, and Thief River Falls, as well as two branches in Fargo.
