On September 5, 2025, at approximately 10:37 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for service regarding a traffic crash near Highway 24 and 26th Street involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Colorado State Patrol (CSP), CSPD, and Colorado Springs Fire Department personnel responded to the area. At that time, the pedestrian was declared deceased on scene.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Later that day, CSPD and CSP Officers located the vehicle and driver. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 59-year-old Cameron Walsh. Mr. Walsh was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, hit and run, and driving after revocation prohibited.
On September 8th, 2025, the El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy on the deceased pedestrian and identified him as 28-year-old Jeremy Ives. A photo of Mr. Ives has been provided by his family below.
This is the 41st traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, there were 39 traffic fatalities. There have been 51 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs in the last 365 days.
