Published: Sep 02, 2025

Contra Costa County - Caltrans has installed temporary traffic signals and lane striping to implement 24/7 reverse traffic control, at the Cummings Skyway Overcrossing in the City of Crockett. Caltrans will continue to perform guard rail replacement and concrete barrier installation, beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

This work is part of a broader infrastructure improvement effort and will require multiple lane and ramp closures in the area. Reverse traffic control will remain in place through the duration of the project and operate 24 hours per day.

Minor delays are expected - motorists should plan ahead and allow extra travel time. Please obey all signals for your safety.

All work is expected to be completed by March 31, 2026, and subject to change, weather and field conditions permitting.

Caltrans will update its X page at https://twitter.com/CaltransD4 on the latest highway conditions, and drivers are encouraged to check out Caltrans Quickmap https://http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/

Motorists can also receive 24/7 highway condition information statewide by calling 1-800-427-ROAD or 1-800-427-7623.

Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
