Alexandria Health Department Shares Additional Details of Northern Virginia Measles Exposure

On February 19, Alexandria Health Department (AHD) shared details about potential exposures to measles in northern Virginia, including an exposure at an office building in Alexandria. AHD is now sharing additional details by listing specific locations that were potentially affected at that office building.

Listed below are the dates, times, and locations of the potential exposure sites:

Office Building, located at 2800 Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 17

What To Do:

If you were exposed at the places and times above, take the following immediate actions:

• Report Your Exposure as soon as possible. All people who were present at the places/times above should fill out this short surveyfor the Virginia Department of Health.
  • Health officials will contact you if you need to take more steps or can receive time-sensitive treatment.
• Check Your Vaccination Status: Make sure you've had your recommended measles (MMR) shots. Tips for checking your status are written below.
  • If you've had two doses of measles vaccine, were born before 1957, or have had measles, then you're considered protected and won't need to take extra steps.
• If you are severely immunocompromised, please talk to your doctor for specific advice or contact your local health department (details below).
