Sharon W. Hurt Officially Assumes Office as Davidson County Clerk

Following a decisive mandate in the August 6 general election where she secured over 64,000 votes, the Honorable Sharon W. Hurt officially assumed office yesterday as the Davidson County Clerk. Her tenure began yesterday after she was sworn in on Friday, August 28 by the Honorable Judge Rachel Bell, surrounded by family, community leaders, colleagues, and key stakeholders including Mayor, Freddie O' Connell. Tuesday morning, the entire office personnel was formally administered their oaths of service during an all staff meeting conducted before normal business hours.

Hurt brings more than 40 years of dedicated public service and executive leadership to the role, including distinguished service as a Metro Council Member-at-Large and prominent non-profit executive. Her administration signals a results-driven era focused on organizational excellence, operational efficiency, and modernized constituent services.
