WHEREAS, as of 12:00p.m. CDT, on Monday January 20, 2025, the Florida Division of Emergency Management issued a Hard Freeze warning for Northwest Florida including Bay County and forecasts as extreme cold front (the "Polar Plunge") bringing dangerously cold temps &wind chills throughout North Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Division of Emergency Management issued of a Winter Storm Watch on Monday, January 20, 2025, covering the Florida Panhandle; and
WHEREAS, the Polar Plunge creates a significant risk of extreme cold temperatures, snowy and icy conditions, and icy roads around the Airport and in the neighboring area in Bay County which requires postponing the Board's regularly schedule Board meeting.
NOW THEREFORE, I, MARK SHELDON, CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE PANAMA CITY- BAY COUNTY AIRPORT AND INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 29of the Board Operating Procedures of the Board of Directors promulgates the following Emergency Order to take effect as provided herein:
1. Board Meeting Postponed. The regular meeting of the Board of Directors set for 9:00am, CDT, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, is hereby postponed until 9:00am, January 29, 2025.
THIS ORDER shall be effective immediately upon execution.
