'Pet of the Week'

Lewisville Animal Shelter "Pet of the Week" - Marly

"Give a dog your heart, and he will give you his."

In an effort to spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur-ever homes, the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet, available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge.

This week's featured pet is Marly, a 6-year-old female German Shepherd mix. Her white fur makes her stand out. She is a mature girl who is looking for a comfy couch to cuddle up with her new family. If you're looking for a companion to binge-watch your favorite shows with, she's your girl. Marley gets along with other dogs but prefers to be by herself - gives her more time to share love with her human.

Anyone interested in Marly can submit an application through the "Adoptable Pets" page at cityoflewisville.com. Just click on her picture and follow the unique URL to begin an online adoption application. Once the application has been submitted, Lewisville Animal Services will call the applicant on or before the next business day. While on the phone and if approved, staff will counsel the potential adoption and will schedule an appointment for a visit. Applications will be responded to in the order they are received.

ADOPTION SPECIAL - ALL DOGS OVER 20 POUNDS

The Animal Shelter is currently running an adoption special through the end of January. The shelter is waiving adoption fees for all dogs weighing more than 20 pounds. The regular adoption fee is $90.
