Senator Warren Statement on August 2026 Jobs Report

Washington, D.C. - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, released the following statement:

"Since Donald Trump took office, the economy has added fewer than 40,000 jobs a month on average, far below the 120,000-a-month average in 2024. Meanwhile, wage growth has slowed to its lowest rate in five years, while Trump's chaotic tariffs and war in Iran drive costs even higher. In Trump's economy, working families are falling behind."
