BBQ and Brew Festival Returns February 28

The City of Yuma invites the community to Downtown Yuma for the annual BBQ and Brew Festival on Saturday, February 28, from 12 to 9 p.m. This free, family-friendly event features food, live music, and friendly competition for a full day of fun.

The festival will feature dance performances, a variety of barbecue and food vendors, and beverages available for purchase throughout the day.

Live music will include performances by Big Bad Wolf, Bobby Trujillo y sus Estelares del Norte, Nashville 90, and American Soldier: A Tribute to Toby Keith.

Attendees can sample a variety of barbecue styles from local vendors and cast their vote in the People's Choice competition, with the winning team earning a $1,000 prize.

The event also includes the Best in the Desert Southwest cooking contest, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). Barbecue teams from across the country will compete for points toward the KCBS Team of the Year World Championship.

A special highlight of the day takes place at 4 p.m. near the Main Street roundabout, when Mayor Douglas Nicholls faces off against Stevo's BBQ - the 2025 BBQ and Brew Festival grand champion - in a live cooking challenge.

"The BBQ and Brew Festival is a great opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy great food, entertainment, and friendly competition," said Special Events Coordinator Brissa Garcia. "We're excited to bring this event for everyone to enjoy."

The BBQ and Brew Festival is made possible through the generous support of presenting sponsor Chapman Chevrolet GMC. Additional sponsors include Pima Federal Credit Union, Elite Farming Services, Channel 11, ABC5, Telemundo, Lamar, Signmasters, Z93, and Outlaw Country.
