Congressman Ivey Applauds District Attorney General for Upholding DC's Police Autonomy
Congressman Glenn Ivey (MD-04) provided the following statement in response to District of Columbia Attorney General Schwalb for successfully bringing a lawsuit to fight back against Trump's overreach in seizing control of the Metropolitan Police Department.
WASHINGTON, D.C.- I commend District of Columbia AG Schwalb for successfully bringing a lawsuit to fight back against Trump's overreach in seizing control of the Metropolitan Police Department. Thanks to these efforts, DC will maintain control of its police force in accordance with the law and MPD can continue its work keeping DC safe. Hopefully, the Trump administration will now end this political show and its other attempts to divert attention away from the Epstein files.
