November 3-7, 2025: Veterans Small Business Week

WHEREAS, there are more than 486,000 veterans living in Michigan and approximately 18.5 million in the United States; and,

WHEREAS, this week, we acknowledge and celebrate the economic contributions made by veteran-owned small businesses in Michigan; and,

WHEREAS, small businesses, including those owned by veterans, are the backbone of our communities and create jobs, spur innovation, and boost local demand for professional services; and,

WHEREAS, we are incredibly grateful for those veterans and their families who continue to give back to their communities after serving our country in uniform; and,

WHEREAS, I have signed legislation to reduce barriers to professional licensure by creating an expedited path for veterans and their families to practice their licensed profession in Michigan, helping our veterans thrive;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, and Garlin Gilchrist II, lieutenant governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim November 3-7, 2025, as Veterans Small Business Week in Michigan.
