GRDA announces temporary drawdown of Holway Reservoir

Aerial view of GRDA's W.R. Holway Reservoir, part of the Salina Pumped Storage Project. To complete a maintenance project, GRDA has begun a drawdown of the reservoir. The extensive project is anticipated to last until May 2025.

In order to complete a maintenance project at its Salina Pumped Storage Project, the Grand River Dam Authority is announcing that an extended drawdown of the W.R. Holway Reservoir is underway.

GRDA plans to lower the reservoir 43 feet below its normal maximum level to complete the project over the winter months. The drawdown should reach its bottom depth by mid-November 2024.

Maintenance work will begin soon after and is scheduled to be completed in early spring 2025.GRDA anticipates the reservoir refill will begin in May 2025.
