Waynesburg University's Stover Center for Constitutional Studies and Moral Leadership will host Professor Richard A. Epstein, Laurence A. Tisch Professor of Law at New York University, for a lecture Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall. The event is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.
In this moment of political transition, Professor Richard Epstein's insights into the enduring principles of law, the structure of administrative governance and the future of American constitutionalism will be essential for understanding the contemporary social and political drama."
Widely referred to as one of the most-cited and prominent legal scholars of all time, Professor Epstein will share his profound knowledge of law and government through his lecture titled, "Natural Law, the Growth of Government and the Administrative State, and the future of American Constitutionalism."
This will be Professor Epstein's third speaking engagement on campus. He first visited in March 2020, where he gave his lecture, "Constitutional Moments: Good or Bad?"

Stratton, professor of ethics and constitutional law and director of the Stover Center for Constitutional Studies and Moral Leadership at Waynesburg University. A prolific author, Professor Epstein has written extensively on a broad range of legal topics throughout his career. Among his most acclaimed works are, "Takings: Private Property and the Power of Eminent Domain," "The Classical Liberal Constitution: The Uncertain Quest for Limited Government" and "The Dubious Morality of Modern Administrative Law."
Professor Epstein received his law degrees from Yale Law School and Oxford University, and his undergraduate degree from Columbia College. In addition to his role as Laurence A. Tisch Professor of Law at New York University, he is the James Parker Hall Distinguished Service Professor of Law Emeritus at the University of Chicago and has been teaching law for more than 50 years.
