Exit Glacier Area To Open for Summer Season on May 14, 2026

SEWARD, Alaska- Kenai Fjords National Park is pleased to announce that the gate to the Exit Glacier area will be open for the summer season on May 14, 2026.

For those visiting Exit Glacier and the associated trail systems, there are significant amounts of snow still present. The park is currently assessing conditions and park operations, and visitors are advised to check the park website for current conditions and to be appropriately prepared if visiting the area.

There is evidence of significant bear activity in the vicinity. Visitors are reminded to practice bear safety, including carrying bear spray and knowing how to use it, and make noise while traveling and hiking in groups.
