Update on Homicide Investigation at Old Prescott Hill Road in Laconia, New Hampshire

Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Laconia Police Chief Matthew Canfield announce further information related to the April 14, 2026, homicide on Old Prescott Hill Road in Laconia, New Hampshire.

At approximately 1:38 p.m. on April 14, 2026, Laconia Police officers were dispatched to 52 Old Prescott Hill Road in Laconia. Upon arriving at the residence, Laconia Police officers found Mrs. Linda Dionne (age 58) deceased inside the residence. Officers also encountered Mrs. Dionne's son, Christopher Garon (age 32).

Mr. Garon has been arrested and charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder, contrary to RSA 630:1-b, I(b), for recklessly causing the death of Linda Dionne under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life.

Mr. Garon is currently being held without bail, and an arraignment will be scheduled before the 4th Circuit - District Division in Laconia. An autopsy is scheduled to take place later today, Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

The charge against Mr. Garon is only an allegation, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
