Novant Health celebrates completion of South Asheville Medical Park, creating a connected outpatient care destination in Western North Carolina

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - On Sept. 23, Novant Health celebrated the completion of the final phase of South Asheville Medical Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a major milestone in its continued investment in Western North Carolina. The new phase includes an imaging center and ambulatory surgery center that will begin serving patients this fall, advancing Novant Health's vision for a more connected care experience by bringing together women's care, cancer care, imaging and outpatient surgery in one convenient location.

Located at 1815 Hendersonville Road, South Asheville Medical Park is home to Novant Health Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Novant Health Women's Specialty Care, Novant Health Imaging South Asheville, Novant Health South Asheville Outpatient Surgery and Messino Cancer Centers. ARA Health Specialists provides on-site diagnostic imaging interpretations and outpatient breast interventions, creating a streamlined experience for patients and enabling greater coordination across specialties.

"South Asheville Medical Park is about more than adding services. It's about creating a more seamless healthcare experience," said Dr. Stan Fuller, senior vice president and physician in chief for Novant Health Surgical Institute and Western North Carolina. "By co-locating specialists, imaging and outpatient surgery, we're making it easier for patients to move from diagnosis to treatment and ongoing care while helping build stronger healthcare services for Western North Carolina."

The imaging center currently offers screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, contrast-enhanced mammography and breast biopsies, and will soon offer a larger range of diagnostic services, including PET/CT and bone density imaging. Designed to complement the specialty clinics located within South Asheville Medical Park, the center will expand imaging capacity and help patients receive timely diagnostic testing and care.

The ambulatory surgery center will provide patients with a convenient outpatient setting for surgical procedures, further enhancing access to high-quality care in the region.

South Asheville Medical Park is the product of years of planning and investment to expand healthcare access in Western North Carolina. The site, which transformed a former Gold's Gym location into more than 38,000 square feet of clinical and procedural space, reflects Novant Health's commitment to building the infrastructure needed to meet the region's growing healthcare needs.
