This is the 12th anniversary of the biennial London International Shipping Week and the seventh time in a row that it has burst into life with the exciting Market Open Ceremony at the London Stock Exchange.
London International Shipping Week has become one of the biggest, most influential, and most inclusive maritime events in the world. Every second year, as it comes around, the world seems to be in a state of flux. This year, geopolitics has come to dominate every aspect of shipping and trade, from escalating violence in the Middle East and continuing war in Ukraine, to the tariff-driven uncertainty that makes this an increasingly unpredictable world.
Against this backdrop, the LISW25 Conference will explore the complex and often contradictory forces shaping the future of global shipping, offering a timely and influential platform for critical reflection, collaboration, and forward-thinking dialogue at a pivotal moment for the industry.
With more than 30,000 industry leaders in London to attend hundreds of events during a week of sharp debate and intense networking, LISW25 will again demonstrate that it is fully inclusive and highly influential. With almost 50 international delegations taking part, some at the LISW25 Global Hub and many brining their Trade and Maritime Ministers, Ambassadors, and other top-level representatives, this promises to be the most international edition to date.
Successive editions of LISW have helped virtually eradicate the UK's inward-looking London-centric mindset and replaced it with a genuinely global outreach which has become a powerful magnet to international industry and governments alike.
According to Llewellyn Bankes-Hughes, Co-Founder of London International Shipping Week, "This was always the intention, back in 2013 when the first edition was held, but the scale and speed of LISW's development still comes as a surprise. We are immensely proud of what we have created but humbled by the enormous amount of work everyone involved has dedicated to the cause."
