Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus Zhou Yunliang Attends the Chinese Ambassador Fund Ceremony At the University of Cyprus

On February 6, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus Zhou Yunliang attended and addressed the Chinese Ambassador Fund ceremony at the University of Cyprus (UCY). The event was also attended by UCY Rector Tasos Christofides, heads of multiple UCY departments, Chinese and Cypriot directors of the Confucius Institute at UCY, as well as recipients of the Fund.  

Chargé d'Affaires Zhou congratulated the award-winning faculties and students. He said that the Chinese Ambassador Fund builds a new bridge of communication between the Chinese side and the UCY. It is highly hoped that more and more UCY faculties and students will get actively involved in exchanges and cooperation with China, so as to help deepen mutual understanding between the two peoples, and support the sustained and sound growth of the China-Cyprus strategic partnership.

Rector Christofides thanked the Chinese embassy in Cyprus for its strong support for the UCY. He said that the UCY is ready to further expand and deepen cooperation with China, and contribute to the strengthening of the Cyprus-China relations. 

The fund-winning faculties and students shared their pleasant experiences in traveling to China and learning the Chinese language. The event was warm and filled with friendship.
