On April 21, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Republic of Armenia, Honorable Vahagn Khachaturyan, on the sidelines of the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana.
During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on a wide range of issues of mutual interest, both bilateral and multilateral.
The President of our country stated, in particular, that "relations between Tajikistan and Armenia are based on long-standing traditions of friendship and cooperation, mutual respect and trust."
The parties then discussed political, trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
Special attention was paid to regional and international security issues, particularly the situation in the Middle East. In this regard, Emomali Rahmon, once again emphasizing our state's unchanged position on this issue, stated: "We resolutely advocate for the peaceful resolution of all conflicts and disputes through political and diplomatic means."
