'DEC Does What?!' Podcast Episode 30 Now Available: Join Team DEC

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today released the latest episode of "DEC Does What?!", the bi-weekly podcast that features conversations with DEC experts about the agency's wide-ranging efforts to protect New Yorkers and the environment. Episode 30-"Join Team DEC"-spotlights the work of DEC's personnel staff who help support the agency's nearly 3,400 employees and recruit the next generation of environmentalists, scientists, attorneys, and administrative staff that help protect New York's natural resources and environment.

In this episode, hosts DEC Region 4 Director Sean Mahar and Chief of Staff Erica Ringewald are joined by Alan Ilagan, Associate Director of Human Resources, and Natalie Joseph, Human Resources Specialist, with DEC's Division of Human Resources to highlight DEC's recruiting efforts to fill positions across every region of New York State, open exam announcements for Environmental Conservation Police Officers and Forest Rangers, and how potential candidates can find jobs through the State's Civil Service system.

Natalie and Alan explain the many benefits that come with working for DEC, how the NY HELPS program enabled DEC to hire more than 350 new employees and promote another 60 during the last year, and how their own personal career path led them to working for the agency.
