The event will take place Thursday, April 9, at 6 p.m. at Geisinger College of Health Sciences, 525 Pine St., Scranton.
Richard Kogan, MD, professor of psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College and artistic director of the Weill Cornell Music and Medicine Program, headlines the evening. Blending music, medicine and history, the program explores how Gershwin transformed everyday sounds into timeless music and examines his creative process, offering audiences a deeper understanding of the relationship between creativity, the human mind and the healing power of music.
