The City of Fort Collins Human Relations Commission (HRC) is accepting nominations for its annual Human Relations Awards.

For over four decades, the Human Relations Awards have recognized individuals and organizations that work to advance inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility in Fort Collins.

Nominations are open through Friday, October 31.

The board is accepting nominations for four different categories:

• Individual Award
• Organization/Team Award (non-profit or for-profit)
• Youth Award (18 years or younger)
• Rising Star Award

Award recipients will be selected by Human Relations Commission members. Criteria for nominees include (but are not limited to):

• Positively impacts underserved populations in our community.
• Serves as a role model by motivating others to effect positive change in underserved communities.
• Demonstrates impact in making Fort Collins and Larimer County a safe and welcoming community for all through inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility initiatives.
• Builds effective partnerships with other individuals and organizations to advance inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility within the community.

Individuals and organizations that have been award recipients in the last four years are not eligible for a 2025 award in the same category. However, they are eligible to be nominated in a different award category. For example, if someone was a Youth Award recipient last year, they are eligible to be nominated this year for the Individual Award. View past award recipients. Although there is not a residency requirement, the impact of the nominee's work should be focused on the City of Fort Collins and/or Larimer County.
