Volusia County Offers Summer Camp Scholarships

Volusia County families can apply for a Summer Camp Scholarship beginning at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13. The program helps income-eligible households offset the cost of summer camp for children living in Volusia County.

Scholarships are awarded to income-eligible households for children between the ages of 5 and 14 years old. Additionally, children up to 17 years old who will be attending an approved special needs camp are also eligible to apply for a scholarship. Applying households must reside in Volusia County.

Scholarships will cover up to a 10-week term from June 1 to Aug. 7. Scholarships may be used only at an approved provider's camp site. A recommendation to approve summer camp providers will be made at the Children and Families Advisory Board meeting on Feb. 24. Scholarship information, an interactive map of the approved camps, and the application will be available at https://www.volusia.org/scs.

Applicants can complete the application online and submit all supporting documents. In-person application assistance will also be available at all Volusia County public libraries during normal business hours.
