Ryan Fazio's Right-Wing Record is Wrong for Connecticut
Republicans were always going to face an uphill climb in Connecticut against Ned Lamont - one of the most popular governors in the country.
But Ryan Fazio's harmful record means he's too far right for Connecticut:
-
Ripping away abortion rights: Fazio said that Roe was "offensive to the rule of law," voted against protecting access to abortion, and was endorsed by a group that wants to make abortion illegal in Connecticut.
-
Voting against tax cuts for children and families: Fazio is vocally opposed to establishing a permanent child tax credit to put money back in the pockets of working families and lift thousands of children out of poverty, a move that would benefit over 550,000 children in Connecticut and is supported by more than 70 percent of Connecticut voters.
-
Opposing commonsense gun safety laws: Fazio voted against a bipartisan bill to strengthen gun violence protection measures and was endorsed by the Connecticut Citizens Defense League, a dangerous anti-gun safety group that attempted to overturn the Sandy Hook assault weapons ban.
-
Hurting public schools and students: Fazio voted against Governor Lamont's balanced budget that supports Connecticut public schools and invests in early childhood education and students.
"If Republicans want to light their money on fire in Connecticut trying to prop up Ryan Fazio and his right-wing record - we wish them luck," said DGA spokesperson Kevin Donohoe. "From opposing abortion rights, to voting against tax cuts for families, to hurting public schools, Fazio couldn't be more out of touch with Connecticut families. We couldn't be more confident that Governor Lamont will win next November."
