Two-day closure of Eufaula immediately west of James Garner

October 7, 2026

On October 8, 2026, Southwest Water Works, a contractor for the City of Norman, will close Eufaula Street immediately west of James Garner Boulevard to replace the existing 16-inch water line as part of the James Garner Waterline Replacement project. This closure will last for two days. The area is expected to be reopened to traffic on October 10, 2026. (During work, access to parking areas of adjacent businesses will be accessible through detour routes.)

Replacement of the water lines within this corridor will eliminate future conflicts with the upcoming Public Works project and will reduce the likelihood of water system impacts to the new street improvements. Residents are kindly reminded to adhere to traffic control measures in place and plan extra time when traveling through this work area. Relevant updates will be made available at Normanok.gov as the project moves forward.

Questions about the construction or the closure may be directed to 405-366-5443 or [email protected].
