Kash Patel: An Unqualified Trump Loyalist Who Seeks Political Revenge

Donald Trump cabinet nominee Kash Patel has shown time and again he is unfit and unqualified to serve as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Patel has said he would dismantle the FBI or use it as a tool to prosecute Trump's perceived enemies like former lawmakers and journalists. He has also promoted "The Big Lie" about the 2020 election to prove his devotion to Donald Trump.

You don't have to just take our word for it-his rhetoric and record speak for himself. Here's what you need to know:

Patel has openly stated he would use the FBI to target Trump's perceived enemies:

• Patel authored a book naming an "enemies list," signaling a focus on personal and political vendettas.

• In an interview with Steve Bannon, Patel threatened that the Trump administration would "come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections." This chilling statement demonstrates Patel's intent to use the FBI to silence and punish journalists-a direct attack on the First Amendment.

• "[T]here is no deep state, there are no government gangsters without some of their corrupt actors in the media who continue to print the lies about Donald Trump's success about our movement, and about our America First movement," Patel said at a Conservative Political Action Conference.

• In a CPAC speech, Patel said: "We [must] collectively join forces to take on the most powerful enemy that the United States has ever seen, and no it's not Washington, DC, it's the mainstream media and these people out there in the fake news. That is our mission!"

• Speaking about members of his own Republican Party, Patel said, "I think what so many of these guys did-whether it's Brennan, Clapper, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Barr, Haspel, Esper, what have you-I think there's a lot of rule- and law-breaking. And I don't know that it ever gets to the level of treason singularly with any of them. But what you have is a buildup of so many actions by the Deep State that it becomes borderline treasonous."

Patel says he wants to dismantle the FBI.

• Patel suggested in a recent podcast he would dismantle the FBI's headquarters in DC on Day 1, turning it into "a museum" for the crookedness he says he saw there. "The biggest problem the FBI has had, has come out of its intel shops. I'd break that component out of it. I'd shut down the FBI Hoover building on day one and reopen it the next day as a museum of the deep state," Patel said on The Shawn Ryan show.

• Patel said "I'd take the 7,000 employees that work in that building and send them across America to chase down criminals. Go be cops. You're cops. Go be cops."

• Patel has asked "how Americans can have any faith in this FBI anymore" and has described the FBI as "an existential threat to our republican form of government."

Patel is an extreme Trump loyalist who would make Americans less safe.

• Patel wrote a book portraying Trump as a king and himself as a wizard, reflecting authoritarian and self-aggrandizing tendencies.

• He's called himself a member of "Donald Trump's army."

• Patel's efforts to please Trump put American national security at risk and endangered the lives of men and women in uniform when he interfered in a SEAL Team Six operation and circumvented Russia and Ukraine experts to counsel Trump during the actions that led to his first impeachment scandal.

Patel continues to promote conspiracy theories about the 2020 election.

• While serving in the Pentagon, Patel advanced Trump's false claims of election fraud. He used his position to legitimize Trump's baseless narrative, undermining confidence in the electoral process and spreading disinformation that culminated in the January 6 attack on our country.

• He spread debunked conspiracy theories regarding undocumented people, stating, "What do you bring in all these people here for? … I think the Democrats are smart enough to say, well, we got to figure out a new way to rig the election."

• December 2023: Kash Patel told Steve Bannon "We will go out and find the conspirators, not just in government but in the media… Yes, we're going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections."

• Kash Patel has accused the FBI of being "in bed with big tech" during the 2020 election regarding Hunter Biden's laptop, saying "when they suffocate the truth and free speech to achieve that end, that is the definition of election rigging."

Patel produced and promoted, "J6 Prison Choir," whose song "Justice for All" was by Kash Patel, and includes convicted January 6 rioters who assaulted law enforcement officers. Patel has consistently portrayed the choir members as "political prisoners" and victims of injustice.
