Will Evans, Qobuz Music Merchandiser AU/NZ |
Qobuz , the independently owned high-quality music streaming and download platform, has hired Will Evans as Music Merchandiser for Australia and New Zealand.
In his new role, Evans will work closely with Qobuz's global music team to help develop, implement and oversee on-site merchandising, programming, and editorial across the platform's streaming and download services to drive customer engagement and commerce opportunities. Acting as a key liaison between internal teams and regional external partners, Evans will help shape and localize Qobuz's musical point of view in the AU/NZ region through curated playlists, artist and label features, and promotional spotlights. He will also serve as a primary contact for labels, distributors, and key industry stakeholders, supporting continued business growth initiatives.
Evans joins Qobuz with deep experience across the independent music ecosystem. Prior to joining the company, he spent eight years as Bandcamp's Artist and Label Ambassador for Australia and New Zealand, where he played a key role in supporting emerging and established artists while strengthening relationships with labels and the wider industry. He was also instrumental in revitalising Melbourne's beloved live music institution The Night Cat. Outside of his work at Qobuz, Evans remains closely connected to the artist community, serving as manager for three-time ARIA Award-winning jazz-psych band Mildlife.
"Will's passion for music discovery, his deep ties to the Australian and New Zealand music communities, and his commitment to supporting artists make him an ideal fit for Qobuz," said Dan Mackta, Managing Director, North America and Northern Europe at Qobuz. "We're thrilled to welcome him as we continue growing our presence in the region and delivering an unmatched experience for music lovers."
Evans' appointment highlights Qobuz's continued investment in the Australia and New Zealand markets, as the platform expands its presence while maintaining its focus on high-quality sound, expert curation, and artist-first discovery.
