MedTech Europe at EP EAMBES event on Strategic Autonomy and Competitiveness of Medical Technologies

On 25 March 2025, Members of the European Parliament Castillo, Kulja and Gonzalez Casares hosted an EAMBES session on "Strategic Autonomy and Competitiveness of EU Medical Technologies Industry" at the European Parliament. MedTech Europe had the opportunity to present its views on the role of biomedical engineering in strengthening medical technology innovation, sustainability and competitiveness.

Building on the explicit acknowledgement of the EU Competitiveness Compass that investing in life sciences holds significant potential for boosting competitiveness, Sigrid Linher presented MedTech Europe's recommendations on how to retain the attractiveness of Europe for MedTech innovation as the global competitiveness gap is widening. It is time for health stakeholders and policymakers at all levels to engage collaboratively and proactively to unlock the full potential of medical technology innovation. Read more here
