The Global Jr. Committee-a consultative body comprised of KT&G members in their 20s and 30s-was established to promote better working culture at KT&G. The opening ceremony for the second round of the Global Jr. Committee was held on the 29th.
The Global Jr. Committee aims to foster improved corporate culture by facilitating communication between working-level employees and senior leadership, under the goal of creating a better workplace. The second round of committee members was selected from HQ, Sales, Manufacturing, and various other departments through a company-wide recruitment drive. Selected members will represent KT&G employees and drive innovation in the company's workplace culture over the next nine months.
Bang Kyung-man, CEO of KT&G, personally attended the opening ceremony to present certificates of appointment and offer words of encouragement. He also held a roundtable discussion that encouraged open communication with committee members.
The second round of Global Jr. Committee will focus on practical implementation-moving beyond creative proposals. In particular, the committee will proactively address organizational and cultural issues and promote understanding, empathy, and communication among members through campaigns and participatory programs.
The first round of the committee operated under the principles of motivational talent policy and capacity building. It proposed ideas that were highly praised by both management and employees, including the manager-expert dual-track talent policy (also known as the Y-shape talent policy) and open lectures on work trends, among others.
A KT&G official stated, "Organizational and cultural innovation starts with continuous communication between senior management and working-level employees. The creativity and execution capabilities of the younger generation will be expanded throughout our organization through Global Jr. Committee, in a continuous effort to foster better working culture for all employees."
