Senator Warren Statement on July 2026 Jobs Report

Washington, D.C. - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee released the following statement:

"President Trump's failing economic agenda is weakening the labor market. Today's data confirms the economy lost 23,000 jobs in July. Since Trump took office, the economy has added only 28,000 jobs per month on average - far below the 120,000 jobs the economy added on average each month in 2024. Job growth in May and June was revised down by more than 100,000 jobs, job openings have fallen, and more people are out of the labor force than at any time on record. And wage growth slowed, straining families' paychecks even more as they struggle to keep up with Trump's inflation."
