Fatal pedestrian/vehicle crash on River Road
At approximately 11:40 a.m. on October 24, a Toyota Rav4 going southbound on River Road failed to negotiate a turn east onto Van Fossen Court. The vehicle struck a trash can on the east side of River Road and continued further into a yard in the 4200 block of River Road. The female pedestrian, 36-year-old Whitney Leigh Woodard, was struck at some point during this crash. She was transported to a local hospital but subsequently died of her injuries. Eugene Police Major Collision Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the crash. 24-16102
