UA continues to support student success through AKRON ALL-IN Book Bundle program

Students at The University of Akron (UA) are continuing to benefit from the AKRON ALL-IN Book Bundle, a Barnes & Noble College course materials program that provides students with access to their books, lab manuals and other required materials by the first day of class at a reduced, predictable price.

Since launching in fall 2024, the book bundle program has helped simplify the course materials experience. UA students saved an estimated $2,717,083 during the fall 2025 - spring 2026 academic term through the AKRON ALL-IN program.

"Every student deserves the opportunity to begin the semester on equal footing," said Dr. John Messina, UA vice president for student affairs. "The AKRON ALL-IN Book Bundle helps make that possible by providing immediate access to required course materials, helping students feel prepared and ready to succeed from day one."

Student feedback continues to highlight the program's positive impact. According to a spring 2026 Barnes & Noble College survey of UA students:

  • 92% of respondents said the program saved them time shopping for course materials.
  • 86% reported feeling better prepared for the start of the term.
  • 77% said the program positively impacted their academic success.
  • 90% indicated they would participate again in the future.

"The program helped make sure I didn't struggle finding the books that I would need," one UA sophomore student said about how the program has improved their experience.

"Our partnership with The University of Akron reflects a shared commitment to helping students succeed from day one," said Paul Stevenson, vice president of stores, Barnes & Noble College. "Together, we've created a course materials experience that makes it easier for students to begin each term prepared, engaged, and ready to learn."

The AKRON ALL-IN Book Bundle provides students with a streamlined course materials experience. Instead of purchasing course materials individually, students receive all required course materials for one flat, discounted rate applied to their student account.

Prior to the start of the term, students receive instructions from the campus bookstore to verify their order and select their preferred delivery method for physical materials, including in-store pickup or shipping. Digital course materials are delivered directly through the institution's learning management system (LMS), providing students access before classes begin.

The book bundle is currently available to undergraduate students. Eligible students are enrolled in the program when they register for classes each term, ensuring they have access to their required course materials before the first day of the new semester. Students may opt out during the designated opt-out period if they choose.
