Man Sentenced To State Prison For Handgun and Meth

Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 53-year-old man found with a handgun and a large quantity of methamphetamine has been sentenced to state prison.

Hardeep Singh was sentenced on Monday by the Honorable William Little to serve five years in prison followed by three years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

On July 31, 2024, around 11:46 p.m., Colonie Police responded to Schuyler Lane after receiving reports of suspicious activity and found Singh walking nearby.

While being interviewed by officers, Singh was found with a loaded .38 caliber handgun and 25 grams of meth.

Assistant District Attorney Stephen Lydon of the Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.
