Bettendorf Fire Responds to 2222 53rd Avenue
June 4, 2026 - On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 2:05 p.m., the Bettendorf Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 2222 53rd Avenue, near the former ORA Orthopedics building. Upon arrival, crews found a small shed that was fully engulfed and that was starting to burn a three-car detached garage next to it.
The first-arriving engine companies quickly extinguished the fire. There was no hazard to the nearby medical buildings - MercyOne Genesis Bettendorf Gastroenterology Associates or MercyOne Genesis Orthopedics. There were no firefighter injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
