Students Invited to Explore and Define Their Future at the 2026 Mayor’s Youth Conference

Cedar Rapids-area high school students are invited to attend the 2026 Mayor's Youth Conference, returning to the Downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Registration is free and open to all area high school students this fall. Those interested in attending are encouraged to apply early for this limited-capacity event.
Students will spend the day exploring post-graduation pathways, connecting with local professionals, hearing from a variety of subject matter experts, and discovering ways they can grow and thrive in Cedar Rapids now and into the future.
New this year: hands-on sessions introducing the Mayor's Youth Climate Action Fund, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies. Students who follow this path will learn how to apply for up to $5,000 in grant funding to support youth-driven climate projects in Cedar Rapids.
"Young people bring new ideas, creativity, and a fresh perspective to the challenges facing Cedar Rapids," Mayor Tiffany O'Donnell said. "This event has become a steppingstone for our youth, an investment in their personal and professional development, and an opportunity to become part of the next generation of leaders in Cedar Rapids," said O'Donnell.
