On March 13, 2026, Ambassador Yang Yang visited the site of the China-aided China-Guyana Friendship Park project and gave an exclusive interview to News Room Guyana. Ambassador Yang stated that during a press conference last week at the "Two Sessions", Foreign Minister Wang Yi introduced the five programs for solidarity, development, civilization, peace, and people-to-people bonds between China and CELAC countries. The China-Guyana Friendship Park is a perfect example of the people-to-people bonds program.
Following the Bharat Jagdeo-Demerara River Bridge, the park stands as the latest milestone in bilateral cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. It ingeniously integrates the elegant style of Chinese gardens with Guyana's magnificent natural scenery, fully embodies the concepts of green sustainable development and "people-centered" approach, and carries the unrelenting pursuit of peace and development by the two peoples. The completion of the park will effectively promote mutual understanding and affinity between the two peoples, laying a more solid foundation for the two countries to deepen bilateral relations and expand pragmatic cooperation.
