The City of Chula Vista has launched its new Chula Vista Bayfront Shuttle service, designed to improve access to the city's revitalized bayfront, including the recently opened Gaylord Pacific Resort and Convention Center. This no cost, emissions-free shuttle will make it easier than ever for residents and visitors to explore all that Chula Vista has to offer.
Running daily from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m., the Chula Vista Bayfront Shuttle will provide convenient transportation with all-electric vehicles, offering an environmentally friendly option for travel around the city. The shuttle routes will connect the shoreline to key areas including the Living Coast Discovery Center, Downtown Chula Vista, Chula Vista Center, residential communities, parks, and existing trolley stations.
Routes include the Blue Line connecting mainly the Chula Vista Bayfront to transit centers at E and H Street and Green Line connecting Bayfront to the adjacent community.
The program is a central feature of the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan's Public Access Program (PAP), which emphasizes the public's right to shoreline access. The program supports a robust pedestrian, bicycle, transit and auto network aimed at providing free or low-cost recreational and transportation options to residents and visitors alike.
"The Bayfront Shuttle will connect our community to Chula Vista's world-class waterfront," said Mayor John McCann. "We're proud to offer this free and convenient service to help residents and visitors experience our scenic Bayfront while supporting local businesses in Downtown Chula Vista."
The City is proud to be partnering with the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) to bring this vital community program that will expand access to connected transportation options for the communities we serve.
