2024 CTC a success

More than 80 cooperative IT and engineering professionals from Illinois and Indiana gathered in Terre Haute last week for the Cooperative Technology Conference (CTC). This marks the first time since 2019 that Indiana has participated in CTC. "We're excited to bring together IT and engineering professionals from Illinois and Indiana. By sharing resources, exchanging knowledge and aligning best practices, the CTC helps drive innovation and strengthens the cooperative network across the region," said Dan Gerard, AIEC CTO.

Attendees had an opportunity to participate in Cyber Strike, a preconference training provided by Idaho National Labs in conjunction with the Department of Energy. Cyber Strike offered participants an in-depth look at the tactics used by some of the most sophisticated cyber adversary groups targeting the grid today. The training provided a series of hands-on exercises that challenged participants to defend against and learn from some of these attacks.

During CTC, attendees had the opportunity to learn about many topics, including protecting remote utility assets, the use of AI in the utility space, and Microsoft Teams for corporate workflows, and were given updates from the National Guard and U.S. Department of Homeland Security/Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
