Orgalim reaction to State of the European Union address

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen made clear in the State of the European Union address on Wednesday 10th September that competitive policies and energy independence are essential to strenghtening Europe at this time.

As manufacturers, Orgalim sees innovation and advanced manufacturing as Europe's true competitive edge and we stand ready to deliver in terms of resilience, jobs and growth. Europe's cleantech ambitions and long-term strategic objectives can only be achieved with a strong, innovative, and competitive industrial base.

Following the address, we urge the European Institutions to apply greater speed and ambition to implement the plans and initiatives that can cut red tape for businesses with the help of a simplified regulatory framework, streamline and focus EU R&D funding, deepen the single market and allow companies the ability to diversify their exports in a geopolitically fragmented trading environment.
