Prime Minister of Hungary

We will win these elections, and then we will not stop, but keep moving forward

At the CPAC Hungary 2026 conference, Mr Orbán said the stakes of the April elections are higher than ever before, and stressed: if they win, by doing so they will protect not only Hungary, but will also break down "the door of the progressive Brusselites."

We Hungarians must win now in a vice. He said the Brussels progressives are squeezing Hungary from the West, the Ukrainians from the East; from Brussels they are threatening us with financial sanctions, while Kiev has imposed an oil blockade on Hungary.

Mr Orbán said on Thursday they repelled the Brussels attack, they could neither weaken, nor humiliate Hungary. Now, we must ward off the Ukrainian blockade, and "we are doing well there as well," they wanted to destabilise our energy system in vain, they could not, the Prime Minister laid down.

He said they are on local turf now, but this time it is full of obstacles: for 16 years, Hungary has been the strongest bastion of patriotic, conservative forces in the European Union, and toppling this bastion would be the biggest victory of the progressives. Therefore, this battle is not only about Hungary, but also about who will win this match in Brussels, he pointed out.

Mr Orbán said in the past 20 years, Brussels has dragged Europe into an untenable situation because for Brussels - rather than the European people - migrants were the number one priority. A constant threat of terrorism, crime, anti-Semitism, anti-Christianity and economic decline - this is the result of their policy, he stated in summary.

He also said Brussels has managed to bring about Europe's biggest economic bankruptcy, and after this Europe is still not number one for them: Ukraine is their number one priority right now. Mr Orbán stressed: European democracy is dying because it is unsuccessful in the economy, has been ensnared by political censorship and "it has a rapid response NGO network" to censor social media. "If they don't like what you say, they restrict your reach," he observed, adding that democracy is dying in Europe because Brussels is directly interfering in national elections and is financing federalist forces. Rather than guarding the Treaties, Brussels betrays them, the Prime Minister stated.

He said this is what is happening also now, before the April elections in Hungary: they are openly demanding a pro-Brussels and pro-Ukraine government in Hungary. "There won't be one, Dear Friends," Mr Orbán laid down.

Describing the conference as "the world's largest open conspiracy," Mr Orbán said within a year or two, the whole western world will parade in patriotic, national and conservative colours - just as they planned a few years ago.

At the conference bearing the motto 'On to victory!', he added that what was happening now was the biggest political rearrangement in the past hundred years of western civilisation, and the epicentre, the power centre of this movement was the United States, while Hungary was its European outpost.

He pointed out: those attending this conference are, in actual fact, not merely engaged in politics, but are fighting "for the soul of the western world."

In continuation, Mr Orbán said they are working in the political frontline of this struggle because "we conservatives have faith in our own people." "Wherever we may live in the world, we promote the cause of our own nation and only owe responsibility to our own electors. For us, our own nation comes first," he laid down.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the fact that previously they thought that there was no point in an international alliance for national forces. But "we have since smartened up," and have realised that if we want to defeat the progressive globalists, we, too, must think in terms of international alliances, he pointed out.

Greeting the attendees, he recalled that the year before they had jointly celebrated US President Donald Trump's victory which had been an enormous success for the world's patriotic forces. He highlighted: since President Trump's victory, the western world has become a better place. Gender propaganda has been pushed back, it is possible to proudly profess Christianity as the foundation and cohesive force of our civilisation, "what is natural" is true again: the mother is a woman, the father is a man, and the family is the most ancient and most important institution of our nations, he observed.

He added: progressive censorship is over, we can say without retaliation that we do not want migration, we have stopped "the green madness," the created world can only be protected in harmony with economic interests, and the two must work together. The world has President Trump to thank for this change, he stated in summary.

He also stressed; we Hungarians, too, have much to thank President Trump for. After "the cold Democrat years," a golden era has set in in Hungarian-US relations: travel is again visa-free, strategic agreements have been concluded in the field of energy, and agreements have been concluded on more than a dozen and a half high-tech US projects, he listed.

"What a year we had also outside Hungary," he said, commenting on developments in other parts of the world. He highlighted the right-wing turnaround in South America: "the national forces of Rodrigo Paz have conquered Bolivia, José Antonio Kast's troops have liberated Chile," while in Argentina, after decades of "left-wing rampage," Javier Milei has finally knocked inflation down, has tidied up the budget, has straightened state finances and has even reduced poverty, he recalled.

Praising Mr Milei, he said today Argentina is a bastion of right-wing forces, while the Argentinian president is "a global rock star of western values."

He added that the patriots had gained in strength in Europe as well: Andrej Babis won in the Czech elections and "threw the Brussels rainbow coalition out of the window."

"We are looking forward to Poland's return. They're already halfway back," the Hungarian Prime Minister said, greeting Mateusz Morawiecki whose party Law and Justice won the presidential election in Poland. "We already have three and a half of the Visegrád Four," Mr Orbán said.

He also welcomed Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze whom he described as a patriotic champion from the Caucasus. In the mouth of the Russian bear, under the constant blackmail of the European Union and despite the ongoing undermining activity of the liberal progressives, he is the one who perseveres with Georgia's sovereignty, he stressed, adding that today, Georgia is Europe's bravest nation.

He said the earth is also shaking in Germany: constant secret service harassment, censorship, threats. Being a patriot in Germany is a difficult fate today, he said, welcoming Alice Weidel, co-chairwoman of the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party whom he praised as Europe's bravest political leader.

In his welcome speech, Mr Orbán recalled that at the Thursday EU summit, several Western European leaders had spoken about closing the borders of their countries for the event that another wave of migrants should set out due to the war in the Middle East - as Hungary did ten years ago, he recalled, indicating that leader of the Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV) Geert Wilders, who will also speak at the event, fought this battle in Western Europe on his own for many long years.

Regarding President of the Spanish VOX party-President of the Patriots for Europe party family Santiago Abascal, he said "he's my boss, this is dangerous. Therefore, all I'm going to say is that we can't possibly want a better leader than him."

Mr Orbán also greeted leader of the Portuguese Chega (Enough) party André Ventura, in connection with whom he recalled the Hungarian saying that one swallow does not make a summer. "You are the one who got it into your head that you will, even on your own you will," he said, adding that it is thanks to Mr Ventura that "while there is no summer yet in Portugal, spring is already coming."

Mr Orbán next greeted former president of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, President of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), who in his view has earned "the title of greatest survivor" as he is still firmly standing in the wake of the American sanctions, German threats and Bosnian harassment.

The Prime Minister said thank you to Miklós Szánthó, Director General of the Centre for Fundamental Rights, the main organiser of CPAC Hungary, and President of the US CPAC Foundation Matt Schlapp whom he described as "a role model Christian political warrior."
