Caracal air assault vehicle – fast, powerful and versatile

The Caracal meets all the modern military's mobility requirements. It is fast, powerful and versatile. Rheinmetall has combined many years of development expertise by Mercedes-Benz with the newly developed superstructure.

Germany and the Netherlands have ordered a total of 3,058 vehicles for their joint airborne forces. The vehicles are currently in production. Also, the Ukrainian special forces have been using them since 2024.

The Caracal platform is based on proven technologies and incorporates advanced features in terms of tactics, safety and performance. It provides maximum mobility in all deployment scenarios. Additionally, it offers the possibility of integrating ballistic protection, various weapon systems and technologies, as well as state-of-the-art reconnaissance and communication technology. The Caracal is not only technically superior and in the long run, logistically sustainable worldwide. It is also an extremely economical new vehicle platform that can be flexibly adapted to the constantly changing requirements of modern warfare as of today and in the future.

Close cooperation between Rheinmetall and Mercedes-Benz has resulted not only in a cutting-edge military vehicle, but also in a strategic alliance combining the strengths of both companies. The Caracal, paired with the new G-Class 464 military series, combines a powerful mass-production automotive platform and a modular, scalable industrial design. Rheinmetall is responsible for the final assembly of the role-specific military equipment kits and has the capability to manufacture these locally in customer countries, customising them as required and producing the appropriate quantities. The company also provides logistical support throughout the entire product life cycle.

Orders from Germany, the Netherlands and the Ukraine, as well as enquiries from many other countries, highlight the significant international interest in this platform.
