Cole’s Monument unable to open as planned due to vandalism

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is disappointed to report that Cole's Monument in Enniskillen has been vandalised.

As a result of the damage caused, essential repair works are now required and unfortunately the heritage site will not be able to open for guided tours as planned this weekend.

We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause and would like to assure residents and visitors that we are working to complete the repairs and reopen the monument as soon as possible for the summer months.

Vandalism has a negative impact on the local community, visitors to the area and diverts Council resources which could be used to benefit the wider community. The Council has reported the vandalism to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI). Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact the PSNI.
